Wonderful Selayar runs small-group trips around the Selayar Islands and Taka Bonerate. We started in 2022 and are based in Benteng, on the main island.
It started with a love for the island and a wish to show more people what Selayar has. The first trips were small community outings. Since then we have guided more than 9,400 travellers on 200+ trips, through the reefs, the remote beaches and the villages.
Today we run open and private trips, make the photos and videos our guests take home, and sell eco-friendly merchandise under WS Origins.
To put Selayar among Indonesia's leading destinations, while keeping it sustainable, community-led and true to its culture.
Our dive trips tie up to mooring buoys instead of dropping anchor on the reef.
We involve people from the islands in every part of a trip, from the boat crews to the village land tours.
We teach guests the basics: don't touch coral, keep plastic out of the sea, and bring a bottle you can refill.
